Endpaper is a calm place to write a whole book in your browser. Start from a template with a prompt in every chapter, write a little each day, and finish with an ePub, a print-ready PDF, or a book on the web.
No account. Your words stay on your device.
That's the real app, not a picture of it. Click around; nothing you change here is saved.
Most books don't stall on talent. They stall on a blank page, a lost draft, or a file nobody can open. Endpaper handles those, so you only have to write.
Choose a template, or bring your Word or Markdown draft. Every chapter opens with a private prompt, so you always know what to write next.
A normal editor that saves while you type. Set a daily goal, keep a streak going, and press one key for focus mode when the words are flowing.
Drag chapters into order, add parts and picture pages, and mark each one draft, revising or done. Older versions are kept, so nothing is lost.
Preview it in a proper reader, then export for e-readers, for print, or for the web, in one click and right in your browser.
Each template is a ready-made outline with a question waiting in every chapter. Keep it, change it, or delete it as the book finds its own shape.
Thirteen designs, seven typefaces and any colours you like, drawn from your title as you type. Download a store-ready 1600 × 2400 image, or upload your own artwork.
Premium designs are free during early access.
Design your coverHeadings, quotes, lists, links and pictures from a quiet toolbar. Paste from Word or Google Docs and keep the structure, not the mess.
Ctrl + . hides everything but the page. The line you're writing stays near the middle of the screen, like a typewriter.
Every chapter keeps earlier drafts while you work. Read an old version next to the new one and bring it back in a click.
Chapters, parts and picture pages in one list. Drag to reorder, search the whole book, and watch the status dots turn green.
Import .docx, Markdown, plain text or HTML. Endpaper splits it into chapters at your headings and makes parts from the top level.
One page at a time, clean type, paper, sepia and night themes, and arrow keys to turn pages. Exactly what your readers will see.
No account, no server, no tracking. The book lives in your browser until you export it, and a full backup is one click away.
A daily word goal, a seven-day chart, and a streak that counts any day you write at all. Small and steady wins.
Add Endpaper to your dock or home screen. It opens and saves with no connection, on a train, in a cabin, on a plane.
Readers can search the whole book and jump to every match. Close the tab mid-chapter and it reopens on the same paragraph.
Click any picture to see it full screen. Paste a YouTube, Vimeo or Loom link to embed it, and code blocks get proper colour.
The grid shows the whole book as cards, like a contact sheet. Drag them to reorder. Deleted pages wait 30 days in the Trash.
Give each book its own accent colour, and add your own CSS for the reader and the web book when you want full control.
Research, reminders and the template's prompt sit in a private notes box above each chapter. Readers never see them.
Copy any page as Markdown, download the whole book as a .md file, or type # and > shortcuts while you write.
Made right in your browser, with nothing uploaded anywhere.
Plus Markdown for other tools and a full backup file to move your book between computers.
A book is only a lot of pages, written one at a time.
Yes. Endpaper runs entirely in your browser, so there's no server to pay for and nothing to charge you for. No trial, no plan, no card.
In your browser's storage on this device. It survives restarts and works offline. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it, so export a backup now and then; the backup file also moves a book to another computer.
Yes. Export the ePub and send it with Amazon's Send to Kindle, which accepts ePub files. The same file works in Apple Books, Kobo and Google Play Books.
Export the PDF at 6 × 9 in, A5 or Letter. It has a title page, a contents page and each chapter on a new page, which is what most print-on-demand services ask for. Upload a cover image in Book settings for store-ready art.
Export the web book. It's a single HTML file with its own reader, contents and dark mode. Drag it onto Netlify Drop, or upload it to GitHub Pages, Vercel or any web host.
Import a .docx, Markdown, plain text or HTML file. Endpaper splits it into chapters at your headings, and makes top-level headings into parts when chapters sit under them.
Yes. In Chrome or Edge, use the install button in the address bar; on an iPhone or iPad, choose Share → Add to Home Screen. It then opens in its own window and works with no connection.
Nine of the thirteen cover designs (Endpaper, Bands, Monogram, Arch, Sun, Swiss, Photo, Deco and Waves) are Premium. They're free for everyone during early access. The four classic designs, every typeface and every colour stay free for good.
Three things, in this order. Publish at a link: one click puts your book online at its own address, with no file to upload. Sync: the same books on your laptop and your phone. Write together: invite co-authors and readers to a book. They'll be optional; Endpaper will keep working with no account, exactly as it does today.
Not at the same time, yet; it's on the way (see above). For now you can pass a backup file back and forth.
Pick a template, answer the first prompt, and you've started.
